GENESEE COUNTY YMCA FACILITIES
The Genesee County YMCA has been located on Main Street in Batavia since 1889. The current facility was constructed in 1950 and renovated in 1974. Since then modifications have been made to increase usable space for programs and services. The current building houses a gymnasium, wellness center, two raquetball courts, 6-lane 25 yard indoor pool, 3 preschool classrooms, a kidsgym with climbing wall, 2 Multi-purpose aerobics studios, a virtual fitness room and outdoor playground. Other amenities include public and private mens and womans locker rooms, dry sauna and steam rooms, child watch center and corporate offices.

Pool
Our certified lifeguards supervise all aspects of our aquatic activity. The pool temperature is kept between 84 and 86 degrees making it inviting for everyone.

Multi-purpose Aerobics Studios
The YMCA has two multi-purpose aerobics studios that are used for a wide variety of classes and meetings. Both rooms are unique and house the YMCA's extensive group exercise classes taught by our certified instructors as well as special events.

Preschool/Day Camp Rooms
The Genesee County YMCA Preschool serves children beginning at age 2. They are home to our School Age Child Care site in the afternoon. Our UPK classes, three year old nursery school and playgroups all learn through play in our well equipped classrooms. During the summer the rooms house the YMCA's Kinder Camp and Day Camp Programs.
Racquetball Courts
The Genesee County YMCA has two racquetball courts that are accessible to members. One court is easily converted for Wallyball and both are used for our pick-up dodgeball games. Members can reserve a court in advance for a small fee or just stop in and take your chances. We have extra racquets and balls that can be checked out at the service desk.
Gymnasium
The YMCA's gymnasium is a place that is used for many activities throughout the day and week. The main basketball court houses six baskets (two which are adjustable) with an curtain that allows for multiple programming options. Activities that are offered in the gymnasium include:
- Youth sports activities, including basketball, soccer league, flag football, floor hockey and more

- Special Events (Healthy Kids Day, Halloween)
- Birthday Parties (Bounce House)

Kids Gym
The Kid's Gym is home to our indoor playground, craft loft and climbing wall. Mostly used by our preschool and child watch programs the kids gym and loft are also available for rentals by school groups and birthday parties.
Locker Rooms
The Genesee County YMCA has men's and woman's public and private locker rooms. The private locker rooms are located inside the public locker rooms and each have a private shower, steam room and dry sauna. Lockers can be rented for a yearly fee. Anyone over the age of 18 can use the steam room and sauna. The public locker rooms are open during regular buisiness hours, however they are not available for overnight storage of personal supplies. Children under the age of 6 must use the locker room for their gender.
In addition, the Genesee Club is a private locker room for use by men only. Only people who rent a locker in the room may use the Genesee Club.
