The Batavia Sea Devils are a youth age-group swim team that compete in the Buffalo-Rochester YMCA Swim League. In addition to league meets, individuals who meet the qualifying standards compete in the New York State YMCA Championships, the YMCA Short and Long Course National Championships as well as other selected meets.

All team members must be members in
good standing
of the GLOW YMCA.

Free Trial Week

Anyone new to the program will be allowed to try the team for one week before making the commitment to join. This will allow prospective swimmers to participate in practices, get to know the coaches and their teammates, and determine if the Sea Devils are right for them.


Practices are offered Monday through Friday at the Genesee County YMCA.

Mondays, Thursdays & Fridays from  4:00-5:50pm                                         Tuesdays and Wednesdays 4:00-5:30pm.  

The Friday practice prior to meets is the only mandatory day of practice.

Please note: All swimmers are required to attend 3 practices each week.  Swimmers age 11 and older are encouraged to attend all 5 practices each week.

Program Cost

All participants must have a GLOW YMCA Membership and remain in good standing to participate in Swim Team.

$379 for full swimmers (non-high school swim team participants.)
$300 for High School swimmers who compete in the fall season for a HS swim team.
$220 for High School swimmers who compete in the winter season for HS swim team.

All payments must be made prior to the first practice. Swimmers may register at the front desk of the YMCA. There is a 10% second child discount and financial assistance is available for those who qualify. All swimmers must be a current member of the GLOW YMCA to compete in meets for the Sea Devils.


Meets will take place throughout the season on Saturdays. Once a meet schedule is finalized it will be avaliable to swimmers and parents. 

Invitational swim meets are optional for swimmers to attend, there is usually an entry fee to attend these meets.

All swimmers must attend at least 4 dual meets in order to participate in our District and State championships.

Special Events

Spaghetti dinners, bowling, fun night, banquet etc.


Anyone interested in joining the team is encouraged to attend trial week practices. All swimmers must be registered for the season by November 1.
