WYOMING GROUP FITNESS CLASSES
Y group fitness programs are developmentally appropriate and help people at any stage of life build positive health habits. Participation in Y programs offers youth and adults opportunities for friendship and community, a sense of well-being, increased self-confidence and improved mental abilities. The Y has land and water based classes for people of all ages, abilities and interests. Consider becoming a part of the Y’s “Group X” family!
Below you will find a list of the group exercise classes offered at the YMCA along with a link at the bottom to the current class schedule.
CARDIO
- Cycling An instructor-lead cycling workout that will guide you up hills, through trails and racing over a flat road. Give it a try!
- ZUMBA® A fusion of Latin and international music themes that create a dynamic, exciting and effective fitness workout. A combination of fast and slow rhythms tone and sculpt the body and burn calories the fun way!
INTERVAL
- Ageless Fitness Multi-level exercise that includes a variety of exercises and equipment. Must bring a sense of humor for fun and laughs.
- Cardio Toning This class combines cardio and strength moves that sculpt and tone the entire body. This class incorporates a variety of equipment to provide a workout that is effective and fun.
- Interval/Sculpt Varying cardio levels helps you burn the most calories! This class will burn your weekend calories and give you strong muscles!
- Step Into Fitness This class is designed to help new participants get a better understanding of how a group aerobics class operates. Through this course participants will get a taste of all the courses the YMCA has to offer.
MIND/BODY
- Yoga This class is a relaxing program that uses slow stretching and strengthening of the body to improve posture and focus the mind.
- Yoga Stretch Move your whole body through a complete series of seated and standing yoga poses. Chair support is offered to safely perform a variety of postures designed to increase flexibility, balance and range of movement. Restorative breathing exercises and a final relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity.
STRENGTH
- Abs This class is an intense non-stop class using basic and advanced exercises that specifically target the abdominal muscles and lower back. This is a mat-based class that incorporates the use of various exercise equipment such as stability balls.
- Body Sculpting Exercise designed to focus on both muscles and bones. Classes may include toning, firming and flexibility, performed with or without weights/resistance, for the purpose of improving muscular strength and endurance.
- Silver Sneakers® Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement, and activity for daily living skills. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a ball are offered for resistance and a chair is used for seated and/or standing support.

Total Tone This class will improve strength and over all toning and get your heart rate up while guiding you through a series of stationary exercises. You will utilize a variety of equipment including weights, body bars, medicine balls, risers, and your own resistance to burn fat and build muscle.

W.O.W. (paid class) This class is designed for women who want to take their wieght training to the next level. This class is designed for ladies who have been strength trainng for five or months.
