WYOMING COUNTY YOUTH SPORTS

The Y is the starting point for many youth to learn about becoming and staying active, and developing healthy habits they’ll carry with them throughout their lives. And the benefits are far greater than just physical health. Whether it’s gaining the confidence that comes from learning to swim or building the positive relationships that lead to good sportsmanship and teamwork, participating in sports at the Y is about building the whole child, from the inside out.

Below are some of the programs offered at the Wyoming County YMCA:

Youth Volleyball
For youth ages 9-12 years,  and is avalible on a drop in basis.  Youth Volleyball will teach the basics of volleyball and focus on sportsmanship.  This program meets Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6:00-7:00.  The program fee for this is $1 for members and a youth day pass for nonmembers. 

Youth Interval Class
For youth ages 8-12 years, Youth Interval Class is a Group Exercise class that will provide fun games, exercises and activities that will alternate cardiovascular training with strength training intervals. 

Youth Toning Class
Youth Toning is a Group Exercise class designed for 8-12 year olds that will help youth to safely strengthen their bodies.  The use of resistance bands, bosu balls and light weights will assist in strengthening bone density and the overall health and well-being of your child.

Youth Cycling Class
Youth Cycling is a class for youth 8 years and older looking to be active.  Go on a virtual ride with Y staff ducking under trees and climbing up mountains.  Youth are sure to enjoy being healthy in this class.
